The evolution of European national states into immigration societies raises questions. In her photographic project Postcards from Europe, the German artist Eva Leitolf examines how EU member states deal with their external borders and with the related internal conflicts.

The project does not focus on the often documented suffering of refugees, but on the structures and procedures used by the European societies to respond to these refugees.

One central aspect in the exhibition, in addition to the photographs, are the texts and their presentation. To make the work accessible on several levels to the viewers, the presentation of image and text will be disconnected.
