Photo(a)mnesia

Hélène Petite
5.07 > 31.08.2012

Hélène Petite (1983) is a young Belgian artist living in Brussels. After studying for one year in Scandinavia, she is now completing her master studies at Sint-Lukas. Her main interest is photography, which she questions on its inherent properties.

The starting point for Photo(a)mnesia is a box containing black and white family pictures. The work deals with the thin separation between abstraction and representation, the game between the one who looks at us and the one that we watch, but it talks mostly about photography as a document of loss.

The exhibition invites you to a mental journey into the landscape of memory.

A selection of books on the topic will also be presented to visitors.
