Dare to say you don’t know and you found yourself in front of obstacles
Dare to say you don’t know.
In presenting the photography of Dieter De Lathauwer, the public art gallery In-Between firmly commits to a revaluation of 'doubt' and 'beauty', both of which indispensably accompany a leap of faith. A dark night in Berlin. A dried-up river in Gran Canaria. A staircase in-between two rocky hills. These are daring images, suggesting the desire for intense, lingering experiences and reminding us of summer's qualities.
And you found yourself in front of obstacles.
The viewer gropes his way towards hazy memories of long-ago confrontations. Looks for escape paths which arouse an indefinite future. He who chooses to dive into De Lathauwer's dusky pool dodges the ‘false certainty’ of a success-driven society and conceptual art.
An initiative of Piazza dell'Arte vzw.
